Now that almost every household owns a HDTV, consumers are looking for all kinds of gadgets to hook up to their TV too. here are some accessories that every HDTV owner should have or at least consider :
- HDMI Cable
You will certainly need a HDMI cable to connect at least your HD cable or satellite box to your HDTV. A High-Speed HDMI cable is recommended as it will accommodate any signal resolution you chuck at it. These also come in different lengths but point to note : for longer lengths, the more expensive cables are recommended.
- Surge Protector
Power surges are real and can cause severe damage to any HDTV, sometimes even rendering your HDTV a white elephant. Surge protectors are not expensive and will also provide useful extra outlets. Look for one with a protection light and ground indicator.
- Microfiber Cleaning Cloth and Cleaning Fluid
All HDTVs have coatings on the screen and these screens require careful care due to their delicate nature. Microfiber cloths are safe to use on any LED LCD, LCD or plasma screen and are really a bigger and thicker version of the type of cloth that comes with prescription glasses. The same kit can be used for your computer monitor.
- Sound Bars and Surround Sound Systems
Most HDTVs come with lousy audio and because the TVs are so thin, the speakers tend to be very small. Any sound bar would prove to be a great improvement over your HDTV’s built-in speakers.
